Did you read « The Little Prince »
by St Exupéry as a child ? with the stories of the sheep
and the hat in the snake’s belly ? Each of us read something else
into it, especially according to the times in our life when we read
or reread it, our moods, our consciousness.
Similarly, this workshop will allow us to refine, as well as redefine,
each for himself, our way of seeing, but also of designing what
we see, our purpose in seeing. See ?
We shall work and play together as a group, take
our eyes for an afternoon walk, and in the evening, examine our
dreams, all the while learning to design, redesign, rethink and
dream our eyes.
Whether you are short or far sighted, whether your sight is double
or fuzzy, you will learn throughout the week, to trust your eyes
without spectacles, you will take pleasure in them, while living
in a place of beauty and eating delicious and nutritious organic
food grown in the garden.
You will understand that the eyes are really the soul’s mirror,
and reflect both body and mind. You will learn to take them in your
own hands, literally, relaxed and conscious.
This is what the Bates Method is about : conceived and elaborated
by Dr William Bates, a New York ophtalmologist, it is an apprenticeship
of practical habits, which you will put to use in your daily life
and keep up forever, to benefit not only your eyesight but your
whole being.
