Description of the site
Les Blancards is a place far away from the daily fuzz, giving you
a chance to create new ideas and visions.
Ideal for management strategy meetings and teambuilding activities.
A unique place for therapeutic work aimed at inner development.
Les Blancards is a former cloister in Mediterranean Ardèche, France.
It is located amidst a woodland on a hill (250 m of altitude) with
a magnificent view, bordering the Cevennes mountains.
Beneath the building flows the small river Blajoux. You are 5 to 25
minutes drive away from lovely rivers like La Beaume, l'Ardèche and
Chassezac where it is possible to swim, canoe, etc. Also you can get
to a number of pretty medieval villages within 5 to 25 minutes by
car, such as Largentière, Joyeuse, Labeaume, Balazuc, Rochecolombe,
Vinezac, Les Vans and Aubenas.
Besides the overwhelming nature, there are many cultural and sportly
activities available in this area. Right from the Centre starts a
number of interesting walks.
The building that began its history in the 14th century has first
been a farmstead. It is built in a U shape surrounding a small inner
courtyard. Around this courtyard are a number of wine cellars and
a covered terrace with a fine view. |
| On the first floor - accessible at streetlevel by a grand entrance
gate - begins the Seminar Centre. In the large entrance hall, where
the reception with the telephone is located, the visitor will discover
an ancient bread oven, and the entrance to a large waterbasin of
50 m3.
It has been used by the inhabitants for their watersupply. The workrooms
of the Seminar Centre are located on the first floor, while the
bedrooms are spread over two floors.
Tasteful workrooms
Two rectangular workrooms of a charming meditative simplicity are
at your disposal. One of 60 m², the second of 37 m². Floors
are of age old tiles. The floor of the bigger room is covered with
a mat of sea grass. It has two doors with glass panels, and two
windows. As the climate requires the incidence of light is not abundant.
The smaller room has plenty of light, prefered by painters and drawers.
For meditation there are about thirty cushions of different shape
at hand, and the same number of chairs. You also have a dozen of
detachable tables at your disposal. The building is provided with
central heating. A little meadow invites you to work outside by
fine weather. Music lovers will enjoy the straight Yahama-piano,
and you also find equipment to play CD's and cassettes.

AGE-OLD
The building has been renovated with care to preserve the age-old
character. The style is austere and cosy.
The bedrooms have hot and cold water and central heating. Showers
and toilets are in the immediate vicinity on the floor.
The "chapel"-part of the building has been transformed into a refectory.

COURSES & TRAININGS IN A FORMER CLOISTER
Meeting
In and around the building are different terraces and facing south
there is a little meadow, that often is used for therapeutic exercises.
The hospitable building has two main entrances and a side-entrance
that leads to a nice outdoor terrace. Because of its many intimate
corners, Les Blancards offers both "formal-businesslike" and "informal-personal"
dwelling possibilities.
For internationally oriented organisations, Les Blancards is located
very centrally to Spain, Italy, Switzerland and the South of Germany.
The highway (A-7, Montélimar-Sud) is only 30 minutes away driving.
There are flight connections to Lyon, Marseille and Nîmes. Near Aubenas
you have a small airfield for business- and sports aircraft's. There
are good railway connections with the TGV: getting off at Valence
or Montélimar. The journey Paris/Valence only takes two and a half
hour by TGV. Once in Valence or Montélimar you can take a comfortable
bus to Aubenas where, for a small fee, we can come and pick you up
on request.
Coming by car is advised if you wish to undertake excursions in Ardèche.

Cosy bedrooms
Charm, atmosphere and austerity can go hand in hand. That you will
discover at Les Blancards.
The participants have six single and four double rooms at their disposal,
all equipped with central heating, hot and cold water. Every room
has its own typical character.
The therapist or trainer enjoys a double room with toilet and shower.

The small-scale of Les Blancards allows concentrated working of high
quality. The calm, the nature, the atmosphere of the cloister, do
their part for your well-being. |

Lodging and care
Les Blancards offers you a organic, partially or wholly, vegetarian
French cuisine. This cuisine is part of the philosophy of the house
and of the Les Blancards hospitality. Healthy and tasty food, flattering
the palate as well as a festive atmosphere are the ingredients favouring
self-improvement, work on a project, attending a course or training.
The dishes are as much as possible prepared with fresh daily products,
part of them coming from the organic garden of Les Blancards. This
too makes Les Blancards a unique place to be. |

Wine is not included to the meals. Soft drinks, mineral waters,
and alcoholic drinks will be charged at the current tariffs.
Les Blancards offers daily menus only. In the price is included
the use of the workrooms.
The Therapists and Course Carriers take their own materials
with them. |

- Library Hall (37 m²) maximum 15 persons 30 € per

Meeting arrangement for companies
With the booking of a seminar or workshop a meeting arrangement
can be agreed for unlimited use of coffee, tea, mineral waters,
soft drinks, fruit juice and cookies for 5 € per day per
person.
BOOKING COSTS
For the booking of a week's training consisting of 5 days/6
nights, starting Sunday night at seven P.M. (with a welcome-dinner)
and ending on Saturday morning (departure after breakfast),
a deposit of 550 € is required, which will be refunded on
completion of the workshop, training, course or seminar. |
